How to enable Admin mode in the Metadata Editor (MDE)

Objective:

I would like to enter into Admin mode in our standalone Metadata Editor.

Resolution:

There are a number of conditions that must be met in order to access and perform all the operations in Admin mode:

  1. You need to have Modify access to the designated DAP data folder.
  2. You need to have Modify access to the designated Reject/Publish Queue folders.
  3. You must have Windows Authentication login rights to the SQL Server instance hosting the metadata database.
  4. The Windows login account should exist in the MetadataEditorAdministrators table.
  5. You must have Modify access to the designated Lookup Folder.
  6. You need to have Modify access to the designated Metadata Editor Install folder.

Notes:

If conditions 1 – 4 are not met, the application will not launch in Admin mode.
