Objective
My created vein surface looks like this when created from GIS lines / polylines / Points. The brown spots are the generated vein surface.
Solution
This is due to that the automatic direction of the vein has been generated incorrectly. This is most likely due to lack of data. You need to manually edit this by following the steps below.
- Visually check the generated reference surface by adding it to the Scene
- Open the Reference Surface Dialog (also sometimes referred to as window) by double clicking it in the project tree.
- Rotate the Scene View to represent a "along strike" view of the vein.
- Click the Draw Plane tool at the top (or use the hotkey Ctrl+3)
- Draw the intended dip of the vein (the values are automatically updated)
- Repeat steps 3 to 5 until you are happy. Or manually adjust the numbers.
- Click OK to apply the new information to the vein.

If this error appears: "Error in Vein Reference Surface" / "Invalid Vein".
