Objective:
If a Geosoft application stops working and troubleshooting has not been successful, it may be necessary for the user to create a fresh installation of the program.
Resolution:
To uninstall
To install:
- Ensure you are logged in as a Windows Administrator.
- Close the Geosoft application.
- Back up any custom files such as custom projections, map templates, control files etc. that may stored in the 'user' folder.
- Uninstall Geosoft Desktop Application by opening the Windows Control Panel and selecting Programs and Features.
- In the File Explorer navigate to and delete the following 2 folders*:
- C:\Program Files\Geosoft\Desktop Applications 9
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Geosoft\Desktop Applications
To download Geosoft software
Go to The Downloads section of My Seequent to find the version of the software you want to install. If you can’t find the version you want, contact support at Support@Seequent.comTo install:
- Ensure you are logged in as a Windows Administrator.
- Place the unzipped installation file on your local PC.
- Double-click the *.exe to run the installation.
Notes:
Only applications that you are licensed for will show up as an option for installation. If you don't see the application you wish to install please ensure you are signed in with the correct Seequent ID and password and that your subscriptions are up to date.
