Objective:
I would like to edit the attributes (line, text or symbol) of a vector group (points, lines and polygons) on my map.
Resolution:
1. Select the group in the Map Manager pane by right-clicking on it and select Edit Vector Group. This will draw a selection box around the selected group, and the group is now in "Editing" mode. NOTE: You can only edit one Vector Group at a time.
2. At this point you can select individual or multiple objects from the selected group using one of three methods:
- Select individual objects by left-clicking them.
NOTE: Holding down "crtl" key allows you to multi-select. A selection box will open while you hold down "crtl" but only the objects that you select will be changed and not everything that is inside the selection box.
For example, if you want to edit your "Lines" Vector Group, you can select every other line by left-clicking on those lines while holding "crtl" key. A selection box will be drawn around all the lines in between; however, only the lines that were selected will be changed when the edits are made.
- Select multiple objects from the same Vector Group at once by drawing a selection box around them.
When using this method, only the objects that are completely inside the selection box will be selected.
For example, if you have drew a box over objects with different lengths, you have to make sure that all the objects are inside the box. In the case below, only the short lines are inside the selection box (the box with vertices). Therefore, only those lines will be edited.
This can easily be solved by drawing a larger box.
- Select all objects from the same Vector Group by right-clicking the selection box and clicking Select All or using "ctrl +A".
3. Right-clicking the vector you want to edit will give you several options, such as Attributes or Edit Vertices.
4. Once you have finished editing, right-click the selected vector and click End Group Editing or click anywhere outside the selection box.
