How to open a voxel within Target for ArcPro

Objective:

I have a voxel that I am looking to import into Target for ArcPro.

Resolution:

Target for ArcPro does not support the native Geosoft Voxel format to import into the application. What can be done, is to convert the Voxel into an OMF file and then import into Target for ArcPro. The workflow is as follows:

Oasis montaj/Target:

  1. Create a new 3D view (or open an existing view)
  2. Add your voxel to the scene: Add to 3D > Voxel
  3. Within the 3D viewer select the 'Export' toolbar > OMF File
    - In the export window, please ensure that you select the voxel file for export, highlighting it within the data selection window
  4. Open your Target for ArcPro project
  5. Target Toolbar > Subsurface Mesh Data > OMF File
  6. Select your file and import

Geosoft Viewer

  1. Create a new 3D view (or open an existing view)
  2. Add your voxel to the scene: Add to 3D > Voxel
  3. Use the 'Export' toolbar within the main frame of the Geosoft viewer (not within the 3D viewer).
    - In the export window, please ensure that you select the voxel file for export, highlighting it within the data selection window
  4. Open your Target for ArcPro project
  5. Target Toolbar > Subsurface Mesh Data > OMF File
  6. Select your file and import
