Objective:
I have an old Leapfrog Mining project that I want to work with using Leapfrog Geo/Geothermal/Works.
Resolution:
There is not a direct upgrade from the old Leapfrog Mining software to the modern Leapfrog generation of software. Bottom line is that that project needs to be replicated.
Depending on the need of the the results or the complexity of the initial project the steps may vary, connect with your local support for further assistance.
General workflow is:
- Export end products (such as volumes) from the Mining project.
- Export any polylines or other created data in the project.
- Identify rough workflow in the Mining project
- Identify Source materials
- drillholes, points etc.
- Create a new Leapfrog Geo/Geothermal/Works project
- Import all exported data.
- Recreate the end products as close as possible.
Notes:
- This requires a valid license for both Leapfrog Mining and any of the new Leapfrog versions.
- If you are using Seequent Central, upload all exported data from Mining to the Data Room for reference.
- Leapfrog Mining and Leapfrog Geo/Geothermal/Works work in opposite directions where the later versions of Leapfrog has a top down view, Leapfrog Mining has more of a bottom up view.
- Meaning that in Mining you generally see thew final output first in the project tree. While in ex Geo you see the combined Geo model.
- Make use of static meshes, there may not be a need for a full dynamic project initially.
- Interval selections in Mining are different from their namesake in the newer versions. But works the same.
- It may be easier to recreate than to dynamically transfer them. If the latter a workflow with Merged Tables usually works.
