Error: "connect() failed: errno = 10061".

Occurrence:

The following errors occur when I attempt to launch my Geosoft application.
 
Oasis montaj Startup:
An error occurred while communicating with Geosoft Connect in order to retrieve your GeosoftID

Oasis montaj:
connect() failed: errno = 10061

Resolution:

1. Launch Windows Explorer. 
2. Navigate to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Geosoft\Geosoft Connect Settings
3. Delete the contents of this folder. 
4. Relaunch the application.

If this fails try uninstalling and reinstalling Seequent Connector

1. Use the Control Panel to uninstall Seequent Connector.
2. Download Seequent Connector here.  
3. Double-click the *.exe to install. 

Root Cause

This error seems to be related to a Windows Update replacing a specific file required to run Geosoft Connect.
