Occurrence:

This error message occurs when launching ArcGIS Pro.

Geosoft Add-In for ArcGIS Pro:
Error initializing AddIn: Error initializing CGX_NET object: Could not load file or assembly 'Newtonsoft.Json, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=30ad4fe6b2a6aeed' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception form HRESULT: 0x80131040)

 

Resolution:

  1. Close ArcGIS Pro and any other ESRI or Geosoft applications you may have open.
  2. In Task Manager, exit Geosoft Connect.
  3. In Windows Explorer go to %USERPROFILE%\appdata\local and delete the Geosoft_Inc folder.
  4. Relaunch the application.

Root Cause

Currently unknown but we suspect its related to connectivity to the Seequent ID Server.
