Error: "The code execution cannot proceed because MFPlat.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

Occurrence:

I updated my Geosoft software this morning version 9.3. After the update, I can no longer launch Oasis montaj or GM-SYS. I get the following error messages:

omcore.exe - System Error 
The code execution cannot proceed because MFPlat.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

omcore.exe - System Error
The code execution cannot proceed because MFReadWrite.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

Program Failed:
The type initializer for 'GEosoft.GMSys.SWIG.gmsysPINVOKE' threw an expectation.

Resolution:

1. Go to this web-site.  
2. Download an install Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10.
3. No need to repair or reinstall

​For Windows 2008 Server environment:

1. Launch Server Manager.
2. Select Features and click on Add Features
3. Select Desktop Experience and click on Install. This will require a reboot.

Root Cause

Windows 10 N and KN are just localized Windows build that are special to that region for some reason.
