Occurrence:
I get the following error message when attempting to run an inversion with Voxi.
"A connection with the voxi server could not be established. This problem may occur if any of the following conditions are true:
1. Your computer is not connected to the internet
2. Your computer is protected by a firewall that is blocking access to the voxi server
3. The VOXI server is down for maintenance
Verify your network connection and firewall, then try again if the issue persists please contact support@geosoft.com for assistance".
Resolution:
- Ensure you are running a supported build of Oasis montaj however we recommend using the most up to date version. As of March 01 2021, Oasis montaj 9.0 and later is required to run an inversion using VOXI. If you required an update, please reach out to your Account Manager or Seequent Support for information on how to upgrade.
- Ensure your Windows System is configured to use TLS 1.2. Please review this video to learn how to check to if TLS 1.2 is enable and how to configure your Windows 10 PC to work with TLS 1.2. You may also need to default TLS 1.2, please follow these steps: How to enable TLS 1.2 as default in Windows
- Ensure your proxy / firewall is allowing communication with the VOXI Server: cloud.geosoft.com. If necessary reach out to your I.T Team and have them whitelist the Seequent Domains.
- Ensure you are running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 64-bit. VOXI is no longer supported on Windows 7 as we had to upgrade our servers to be compliant with modern day operating systems. This change was necessary to ensure customer's data and personal information is secure and protected. For more information see: Windows 7 Compatibility with Seequent Products.
Once you have resolved the issue above, please try submitting a VOXI inversion again. If you run into further complications, please reach out to Seequent Support for additional assistance.
Root Cause:
TLS 1.2 not being configured on your Windows System, you are using Oasis montaj 8.5.5 or lower, or you are being blocked from communicating with the VOXI Server.
Note:
Beginning March 01, 2021, the VOXI Service will no longer be compatible with any version of Oasis montaj earlier than 9.0. This change has been spurred by the implementation of several security updates to our VOXI services to further protect our customers data and personal information.
