I have added the Target for ArcGIS toolbars in ArcMap but I don't see them on my screen.

Symptom:

In ESRI ArcMap I have added the Target for ArcMap toolbars but they do not appear anywhere on the monitor.

Resolution:

  1. Close all ArcGIS applications
  2. Search "This PC" for "normal.mxt"
    It is located in your user folder
    C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.6\ArcMap\Templates
  3. Rename or delete Normal.mxt
  4. Re-open ArcGIS ArcMap

This will force the application to create a new Normal.mxt on launch.

Root cause:

Toolbars in ArcGIS ArcMap 10.6.1 can be undocked and placed outside the program window. If the Toolbar is "lost" offscreen there is no quick "recall to home feature".
