Where to find the Geosoft user folder for saving custom files

The location of the custom folder depends on the version installed. 

  • Version 9.0 - 9.7:  C:\Program Files\Geosoft\Desktop Applications 9\User
  • Version 9.8 and up: C:\Users\{{User}}\Documents\Geosoft\Desktop Applications 9

Note:

With this change there also comes a change in the 'Replacement Variable' for environments. Previously, you were able to use <Geosoft> as a replacement variable to input into your OMN (custom menu) files to call upon the scripts in the user folder. The new replacement variable is <Geosoft2>. This will set the environment to the 'C:\Users\{{user}}\Documents\Geosoft\Desktop Applications 9'.
