Please note:
This article pertains to users that are running Target for ArcGIS Pro versions that are prior to the latest 2.4 release. If you are running the latest 2.4 release and the issue is occurring, please contact Technical Support at support@seequent.com.
If you are running Target for ArcGIS Pro 2.4 on ArcGIS Pro versions 2.7.2 or newer and are experiencing the following error: "Error during unhandled: The invocation of the constructor on type 'Geosoft.WPFControls.Browser.BroswerControl' that matches the specified binding constraints threw an exception." upon selecting the Geoscience Data Portal, please see the knowledge article linked here for further information!
Symptom:
I am attempting to download data from the Geoscience Data Portal and I am unable to do so with the https://dap.geosoft.com/GDP/ portal.
Resolution:
There are three resolutions to address this issue:
1) Update your current version of Target for ArcPro to the latest 2.4 version
2) Add the updated server address to your server list: https://public.dap.seequent.com/gdp/
- Open the Geoscience Data Portal within your application.
- At the top right corner of your window is an 'Options' icon. Select this button and then select 'Manage Geosoft portals'
- Add the new address (above) to the Portal list
- It may benefit to close down the Geoscience portal and launch again
3) Access the Geosoft Public DAP Server through your browser using the following URL: https://public.dap.seequent.com
Root Cause:
This issue is occurring due to us changing the domains that these servers are hosted from. We are changing our decommissioned *.geosoft.com address to the new *.seequent.com address. All versions prior to the latest 2.4 version are installed with the decommissioned address and will need to be manually addressed by the user following the steps outlined above.
