Error: "IGetString_LTB : Invalid Field number"

Occurrence:

After updating to Oasis montaj 9.10, I get the following error message attempting to reproject or modify the projection of my database (*.gdb). 

Oasis montaj:
IGetString_LTB : Invalid Field number

Resolution:

A full uninstall followed up a reinstall generally addresses this issue. 

  1. Close Oasis montaj if open.
  2. Use the Control Panel to uninstall Geosoft Desktop Applications
  3. In Windows Explorer and delete the following folders:
      • C:\Program Files\Geosoft\Desktop Applications 9
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Geosoft\Desktop Applications 9
      • C:\Users\<firstname.lastname>\Documents\Geosoft\Desktop Applications 9
  4. Then re-install Oasis montaj 9.10 using a download from this page: https://my.seequent.com/products/oasis-montaj/latest 

Root Cause

It is believed that a faulty installation or upgrade is responsible for this issue.  Uninstalling / reinstalling forces a rebuild of Oasis montaj and all associated files.
