Objective:
I have a TIFF file and I want to convert it to a Geosoft Grid (.GRD)
Resolution:
It isn't possible to convert a TIFF file directly into a Geosoft Grid file. However, it can be achieved by converting the TIFF to a floating point grid (FLT) in ArcGIS and then converting the FLT to a Grid.
To convert the TIFF to a FLT (in ArcMAP/ESRI)
1. Open ArcToolBox > Conversion Tools > From Raster > Raster to Float.
2. Select the TIFF as input file.
3. Create a name for output file. Click OK.
To convert the FLT to a Grid
1.Target Surface > Copy/Convert Grids.
2. Change the input file format to FLT clicking in ...
3. Select the FLT file generated in step above.
4. Create a name for output GRD file. Click OK.
