Error: "Subscription Issue. The subscription for this product may need to be refreshed or...to access this functionality"

Occurrence:

Each time I attempt to launch the application, I am not given the opportunity to enter in my activation code. Instead I am immediately presented with the following message:

How do I get back to the screen where I can enter my activation code?
