Error: "The code execution cannot proceed because *.dll was not found"

Occurrence:

The following errors are displayed when attempting to launch my Leapfrog application:

Geo.exe-System Error:
The code execution cannot proceed because *.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. 

AND

Geo.exe-System Error:
The code execution cannot proceed because libmmd.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. 

 

Resolution:

  1. If reinstalling the application, as suggested in the error message, does not resolve the issue, then the Intel C++ redistributables will need to be installed.  These can be found at the link below:

If the above does not solve the problem, and you have installed version 2021.1, try the following:

  1. Try to locate where the *.dll file is currently saved. (one of the possible paths is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Shared Libraries\redist\intel64_win\compiler)
  2. Copy the *.dll file to the Leapfrog bin folder: C:\Program Files\Seequent\Leapfrog 2021.1\bin

 

Root Cause:

This error is caused by Intel C++ redistributables required by Leapfrog either not being installed correctly along with the application or being removed or damaged somehow after the application has been installed.

Can also happen if a newer set of C++ files have been added following a re-install. Related to Windows Software Centers.
