Symptom:
When attempting to launch my Seequent application I am asked to enter in my Seequent ID and password. After doing so, my default browser is automatically opened but nothing happens and the application fails to launch.
Resolution:
There are several reasons this can happen. Please work down this list and attempt to launch after each item.
Ensure you are using a supported operating system:
- System requirements for all Seequent applications can be found here: https://www.seequent.com/help-support/system-requirements
- Windows 8.1 64-bit is a minimum requirement. Windows 10 64-bit is recommended.
Refresh your subscription:
- Locate the Seequent Connector icon in the system tray.
- Right-click it and select Refresh Subscription.
Uninstall / Reinstall Geosoft Connect and/or Seequent Connector:
- Use the Control Panel to uninstall the current version of Geosoft Connect and/or Seequent Connector.
- In Windows Explorer navigate to
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Geosoft and delete the Geosoft Connect settings folder.
- In Windows Explorer navigate to
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Geosoft_Inc\and delete the Geosoft Connect folder.
- Download the current version of Seequent Connector here: https://downloads.seequent.com/Geosoft/SeequentConnector.zip
- Install and sign-in.
Try using a different default Browser:
- We would recommend you utilize the latest version of one of the following supported web browsers: Google Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- You may need to check with your IT department as to which browser is recommended and supported within your environment.
White list the Seequent Domains:
- Reach out to your I.T Team and have them verify white list the following domains.
Ensure you have permissions to launch GeosoftConnect.exe:
- Reach out to your I.T Team and have them verify you have the correct permissions / rights required to launch the GeosoftConnect.exe in the C:\Users\***USERNAME***\AppData\Local\Geosoft_Inc\Geosoft Connect folder.
