Occurrence:
I have recently plotted my drillholes on my section map through Section Tools > Plot Drillholes. I have now gone and attempted the same workflow (Section Tools > Plot Drillholes) to replot the drillholes on my section and I am prompted with the error message:
"Error: Invalid group number <#>"
Root Cause
This error message is a resultant of a bug in our application, logged as 'ISSUE-11177'. It occurs due to the GX being unable to overwrite the output Data layer groups within the map manager.
Within the Section Tools > Plot Drillholes... window, there is a 'Data' tab that enables the user to display their From-To and Point data down hole. When there is data selected to display, and the GX is ran, there will be a feature group created within the map manager for each data type selected in the 'Data' tab. The issue arises when the GX is ran again. The data groups outputted in the initial GX instance are unable to be overwritten.
Resolution:
There are two possible workflows to workaround this issue:
1) Delete the 'Data' tab layer group(s) from the map manager and re-run the GX
2) Rename the 'Data' layer group(s) in the map manager and then re-run the GX. This will produce separate data layers within the map manager, the renamed ones and the newly created ones.
